A highly productive and inspiring exchange at the Strategy Meeting of the DGOU, held on March 27–28 in Seeheim-Jugenheim. Led by the presidents and secretaries general of the DGU and DGOOC, the meeting focused on key future topics in orthopaedics and trauma surgery. In an open and collaborative atmosphere, we engaged in in-depth discussions on major challenges and strategic developments—from ambulatory care transformation to training and future healthcare structures. The Sports Orthopaedics Course in Munich has been a key highlight in my calendar for several years. Outstanding scientific presentations, high-quality content, and—most importantly—engaging discussions with participants and colleagues make this course truly special. It is the combination of evidence-based education and dynamic exchange that creates a learning experience well beyond traditional formats. Grateful to be part of this inspiring course once again. A great experience at the AE Master Course in Munich on March 13-14. Stepping into a slightly different world—the world of joint replacement surgeons—is always enriching and offers valuable new perspectives beyond my usual focus. The exchange across subspecialties, combined with high-level expertise and open discussions, makes this course particularly inspiring. Last event of the year. It’s always a great honor to be on the road with the German ski team. This year’s World Cup in Gröden once again delivered unforgettable moments — thrilling races, unique insights behind the scenes, and the special atmosphere. Outstanding athletes, an exceptional support team, and true passion for high-performance sport. Grateful to be part of this journey and to experience elite skiing from so close — on and off the slopes. 🎿❄️

Reflecting on an inspiring visit to Oslo 🇳🇴

At the end of October, I had the privilege of being invited to the meeting of the Norwegian Arthroscopy Association in Oslo – thanks to Lars Engebretsen, one of the true international leaders in sports medicine and sports orthopaedics.

Even though this wasn’t my first time there, I’m always impressed by the Scandinavian orthopedic community. The open discussions, high level of critical thinking, and extremely constructive atmosphere make these meetings truly special.
