I’d been in altered states many times before. It had never been this real, this immersive, this clear, this world-shattering-yet-simple.

I could see clearly, in high definition, how this greater reality had always been there, like the scenery in a theater play, that you don’t pay attention to as much as to the actors, but it’s there in the background of your awareness.

I’d never looked at this dimension as fully and directly as I did now. It seemed almost too obvious — and quite funny: the Cosmic Web, right there all along, hidden in plain sight. I was drowning in awe. I felt saturated by a glowing stream of aliveness that seemed to enhance the very colors around me. My every sense lit up.

This essay is my account of a life-changing Spiritually Transformative Experience, which happened to me over a decade ago and transformed all aspects of my life and way of being in the work-- but not before breaking down my sense of normal.

In case you missed it, we're still in the depths of yesterday's Scorpio Full Moon ♏🦂🌕✨

With the Sun in Ta**us and the Moon in Scorpio, we’re dealing with fundamental, instinctual archetypes. The forces of Life and Death; of Growth and Decay; the cycles of energy and matter, dancing the emergence of physical, emotional and ecological health.

The image that comes to mind is from Hayao Miyazaki’s film, Princess Mononoke — the Forest God both bringing forth life and absorbing it back into himself.

As always, lunations don’t occur in a vacuum, but function as activations or translators of the larger ongoing planetary cycles, bringing them present into our daily world, furthering the plot, so to speak. This cosmic moment highlights ways of being and connecting, routines, structures and ways of coping, that have been useful so far, but have become limiting.

Within the last 2.5 months, several planetary cycles that were in the process of ending —since 2023 — finally closed and a new chapter just opened for us collectively. Many have been feeling the long ending process as disorientation, shifting sands, or an ongoing stop-and-start.

The projected future the collective imagined 20 or even 10 years ago is not what is emerging; the very sensitive, the neurodivergent pattern-recognizers, the canaries in the coalmine, the psychic dreamers and the soul-connected intuitives knew that divorcement from Earth and Spirit would never yield a future, but it wasn’t clear as day to the majority.

Life is now demanding for the New that’s been brewing underneath all that fog to come forth.

In its most generative expression, Libra is a sign of emotional and social skill, taking the raw material of our loving feelings, and applying the intelligent know-how required to weave a container where those loving feelings can thrive into something much greater than the sum of the parts.

This can look like the skill needed to paint a heart-wrenchingly beautiful landscape, or the skill needed to build a romantic partnership where each person feels seen, held and supported.

When I first learned about cords, my whole life changed. I had this friend. We had a lot of heavy history together, and we are both *very* intense people -- compounded by the fact that at the time we were in our very early 20's, and still kinda angsty teenagers honestly. Our relationship had devolved into a constant bickering, power-dynamic-riddled affair. My initial experience with a cord cutting was to heal this relationship, and in fact, we each separately received a cord cutting for it. Suddenly -- and I mean instantly -- we could be civil to each other. There was suddenly a lot more spaciousness and less reactivity in our interaction. This, without a need to do a ton of conscious processing of the dynamic.

Not that we shouldn't become conscious of our relational patterns, quite the opposite! But in the case of my friend and I, the steam had gone out of the ongoing push-pull between us. That's a much better place to shift a pattern from, rather than in the fight-flight of constant conflict.

If you want to go deeper with the topic of cords, I highly recommend Mary Mueller Shutan's book "The Complete Cord Course". I'm in no way affiliated with her but I find her books a fantastic, clear and thorough resource, so I recommend her all the time.

We’re on the final roughly six months of a thirty-six year planetary dance between planets Neptune and Saturn. They’ll begin a new thirty-six year cycle starting in late February 2026 with a conjunction in the sign of Aries. Whether you’re into astrology or not, I will do my best to make this brief breakdown easily accessible and as hype-free as possible, as I know the internet is filled with sensationalism around every little astrological transit.

Not everything is The Most Powerful and Transformational Portal of All Time, but we do happen to be in a multi-year period full of era-level endings and beginnings. My aim in today's article is to help clarify what we’re seeing in the world at large and to give context to the blurring, bendy boundaries of what reality feels like right now — with an emphasis on what we can do to make the best of a tricky-to-navigate collective process.

When clients come to me at first, sharing that they’ve had visions that came true, or communions with otherworldly beings; that they felt they communicated with the tree outside their window or their beloved cat or dog or horse in meaningful ways; that they had nagging premonitions that had no way of coming from their rational mind or linear senses; that they were visited by flashes of light in ways that were ecstatic or terrifying or both…

… there’s that worry. “I don’t want to seem crazy”.

But my clients’ worry — which has been my own worry in the past, asking myself where the line lies between being spiritual and being out to lunch — is more than founded. Not the worry that they *are* mentally ill, but the worry that someone else will think so and openly or covertly hurt them for it. Many of my clients, and many others in my social circles and extended community were punished harshly for speaking about their extrasensory perception, even to the point of being pathologized and medicated for it. Other times, the punishment wasn’t medical, but religious. Either way, “crazy” became a very loaded shorthand and a big, looming barrier to shining a light on their spiritual and psychic channels.

But the issue is much bigger than that, I believe. Lying right next to the individual concerns of sensitive and psychically open individuals about being seen as mentally unstable, or of actually becoming psychotic, is a fierce cultural phenomenon. This is a subliminal, electrified, dire “no trespassing” boundary. I’m referring to the widespread taboo in Western culture against the possibility of the supernatural, the “woo woo taboo”.

Today’s New Moon essay is all about dreams and more.

I believe dreaming is a kind of spectrum. It’s a threshold or shoreline where the universe that is our own being meets the many other dimensions intertwined with our physical existence.

I make the case that the contents of our “imagination”, particularly dreams, are, far more often than we realize, psychic impressions.

And we don’t know it unless that inner experience meets the “objective reality” out there.

How often have you had a dream that foretold something in the future? Or showed you a glimpse into someone else’s lived experience? Whether you know it or not, I’m betting that it’s more often than we give these things credit for!
