Yesterday our ePAGs visited our expert center Motol University Hospital in Prague. Our hosts Martin Vyhnalek and Julie Novakova introduced us to the team at Motol as well as patients and patients representatives they work with. We got a great insight into their work and also got to try some excercises for ataxias and Atypical Parkinsonian Syndromes like lax vox and the Mendelsohn maneuver to improve or ease discomfort with swallowing. They also showed us some of their labs where they do assessments for early detection, like eye movement and gait stability. We also enjoyed the traditional sweets, Koláče, with different fruit, nut or seed fillings.
