Efferon at the Pharma Partnering Summit, Basel

Over the past few days, Efferon's leadership joined business development executives from leading European pharma and biotech companies in Basel. The discussions focused on what makes partnerships successful in practice: trust, transparency and a shared commitment to patients health.

When standard therapy alone is not enough, adjunctive treatments can play an important role in improving patient outcomes. In his presentation, Efferon CEO Dima Romashin discussed the potential of hemoadsorption in oncology, rare diseases and autoimmune conditions, where controlling dysregulated inflammation may help improve the overall treatment journey for patients.

Congratulations to Vedran Premužić and the entire organizing committee for a great 4th International Conference on Extracorporeal Organ Support in and an excellent opportunity to bring together the intensive care and critical care community.

Together with MEDICON and BERTOSSI, we were pleased to discuss multimodal hemoadsorption and the evolving role of Efferon in sepsis and septic shock management.

was among the key topics of discussion. A special moment of the event was Ivan Bessonov's lecture on the LASSO NEO multicenter clinical trial results. Based on these findings, the world's first multimodal hemoadsorption device for pediatric use, Efferon NEO, was approved for the treatment of neonatal and pediatric sepsis and septic shock. Children treated with NEO demonstrated faster shock resolution, reduced organ dysfunction, decreased need for vasopressors and mechanical ventilation, and meaningful reductions in inflammatory markers, cytokines, and endotoxin.

Looking at this photo, you might think it’s just the beautiful cliffs of England. In reality, it’s probably Dima Romashin scouting the next market for Efferon expansion.

Today, we celebrate the birthday of our CEO and Co-Founder, Dmitrii Romashin, one of the founding fathers of Efferon and a person who has never been very good at thinking “small.”

Many years ago, Dima saw a bold scientific idea and decided it deserved more than staying inside a laboratory or presentation slide. Together with his co-founder, Ivan Bessonov, he helped build what Efferon is today: a team of people who believed that “impossible” usually just means “give us some more time.”

Happy Birthday, Dima, and thank you for building, believing, and inspiring.
