📖 The new issue of journal is out.

Vol. 6, No. 2, July 2026. Twenty-one peer-reviewed indexed articles, each with a DOI, from Türkiye, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Poland, China, India, Pakistan, Ethiopia, Romania, Portugal, Georgia, Germany and the UK. 🌍

Nothing in this issue was planned as a theme, which is exactly what makes it worth reading. A Balkan fairy tale ended up a few pages from a four-country study of artificial intelligence in psychotherapy. Classical Chinese medicine found itself in conversation with the model of actual capabilities. Schoolchildren are learning politeness as a way of resolving conflict.

Inside this issue:
🤖 AI in psychotherapy — voices from India, Bulgaria, Poland and Ethiopia
☯️ Key conflict and the Taiji diagram; capabilities through traditional Chinese medicine
🇺🇦 Resilience, meaning and recovery in wartime Ukraine
🕊 Grief beyond bereavement — and the word our languages never made for a bereaved parent
📜 The Ethical Principles and Guidelines of WAPP, published in full
And many other fresh insights from the world

Dear WAPP members, 🌍

In September 2026, a new Executive Board of our Association will be elected for the years 2027–2028 (the term of the Board starts in January 2027 and ends in December 2028).

Today, we want to share with you the procedure and timeframe of the election for your information. 🗳️

The Executive Board is elected every two years. Its next term will start on 1 January 2027 and will end on 31 December 2028. The Board consists of 7 elected members. The election process starts with a nomination phase, in which full members can nominate other full members for the Board. Full members will receive separate information on the nomination process.

The election will take place by electronic voting with an online election tool (Election Runner). All paid members will receive an invitation in due time. 💻

The timeframe of the election is as follows:

Another inspiring summer gathering took place in Ukraine!

From 6–9 July, the Ukrainian Institute of Positive Psychotherapy (UIPP) held its annual Summer School for Trainers and Project Leaders in Cherkasy - the city where the history of in Ukraine began.

Held in a hybrid format, the Summer School brought together 20 trainers and candidate trainers and 9 regional project leaders representing 16 cities across Ukraine. Together, they exchanged experience, strengthened their professional competencies, and planned the future development of the Institute.

The programme combined strategic planning, trainer SV, SD groups, practical workshops, and opportunities for meaningful connection and restoration. A special focus was placed on maintaining the high educational standards of WAPP/UIPP and supporting the professional and personal growth of trainers and project leaders, especially in the challenging context of war.

Throughout the programme, the principles of the Balance Model of PPT were brought to life by creating space for learning, collaboration, self-care, creativity, and shared vision.

We congratulate our Ukrainian colleagues on another successful Summer School and wish them an inspiring new academic year ahead!

We are pleased to share another summer highlight from our community!

The 10th Anniversary Summer Intensive Camp, organized by the South Ukrainian Institute of Psychology, Psychotherapy and Management (Південноукраїнський інститут психології,психотерапії,управління ), brought together around 60 Ukrainian colleagues from different parts of the world in Shabla, Bulgaria.

Participants took part in self-experience and supervision modules led by trainers from Ukraine, Bulgaria, and Romania, including Gabriela Hum, Todor Todorov, Boryana Chalakova, Olga Lytvynenko, Gergana Bencheva, Elena Drazheva, Liudmyla Korolova, Paraskovia Budurova, and Olena Kuzmenko.

Alongside the educational program, participants enjoyed a rich community experience with evening activities, workshops, movie nights, theatrical performances, and many opportunities to connect, reflect, and simply spend time together.

In these challenging times, it was especially meaningful that Ukrainian colleagues could come together in a safe environment to continue their education in Positive Psychotherapy (PPT after Peseschkian, since 1977). The camp also created an opportunity for Ukrainian professionals currently living abroad to reunite with colleagues from Ukraine and strengthen the bonds of their professional community.

We warmly congratulate the SUIPPM on the successful 10th anniversary of this wonderful tradition and thank them for sharing these memorable moments with the international WAPP community.
