Her leaving in tears yesterday was touching. One of my interesting memories after moving to Denmark was running into the Queen and walking face to face towards each other (without knowing it was her at first, then without knowing what to do when I realised it was the Queen. Stop walking? Step aside? Say Hi, or not?) As she approached closer, I took a step to the side to ‘let her’ pass. She had a nice smile on (and a single bodyguard right behind 😊) and she looked like any other Dane I met in Aarhus; genuine, kind, approachable and in good humour.
While Denmark welcomes a new king, , I am thanking Aarhus for bringing amazing people in my life too, both on a personal and on a professional level. Thank you for all the referrals. In 2023 alone, I had the opportunity to work with individuals who also called Aarhus home but were from the following 30 countries: Algiers, Australia, Belgium, Bulgaria, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, India, Moldova, Morocco, Netherlands, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, South Africa, Taiwan, Tanzania, Tunisia, Turkiye, Ukraine, United States of America and Zimbabwe.
Do I need to mention Aarhus is a very International city too? 😊
