🧘♀️ Ondt i ryggen? Flow & Ro — Yoga Workshop hos VFitLab

🏋️ Lift heavy. Live longer. It's that simple.

A 30-year Harvard study of 147,000+ adults found that 90-120 minutes of resistance training a week — about 2-4 sessions — was linked to:

✅ 13% lower risk of death, all causes
✅ 19% lower cardiovascular death risk
✅ 27% lower dementia/neurological death risk

For women: challenging, heavy loads (not the 2kg pink dumbbells 😜) done ~3x/week are the most effective way to protect bone density through and after menopause.

For men: heavy lifts boost testosterone. No extra words needed 😎

The takeaway: intensity matters more than time spent. A few focused, heavy sessions beat hours of half-effort training.

📍 Ready to lift with a plan that actually works and a real community that supports you? Come try a session at VFitLab — we'll build you a program around real strength, not just sweat.

Most of the time, is the environment that let us down. So don't blame yourself.
Motivation and willpower are really small predictors of behaviours.

What influences our behaviours the most, it's the environment we operate in.
If you have cold b**rs in the fridge, a jar of cookies on the dining table, a cup of candies available at an arm reach, what do you think it's going to happen the 10th time you open the fridge or just walk in the kitchen?

Clean your environment from junk food and treats. Put a b**r in the fridge when you are planning to drink it later. Take the cookies and candies and put them in a place which is hard to reach.

It's not a sacrifice, it's stopping an automatic behaviour that is triggered by a "false" craving created by your environment.

And if you remember you have cookies stored away, and you really really want that cookie, then go grab it. You are planning a bbq in a hot day like today, put that b**r in the fridge. But all the other times when it was only a temptation, it won't happen.

Automatically. No stress. No sacrifices.

You'll be amazed by the results.

Many people sign up a long term membership in a big gym after summer vacation.
Maybe you did too, last year. You fell for the marketing: great deal for 1 year--you felt motivated and ready to change.

So, you signed up, started strong, and after a couple of weeks you missed the first training. Then again after one week. And after 2 months you stopped altogether.

This is quite normal psychologically. Because we cannot rely on motivation and willpower. There are so many other components that come into play with regards to training and exercise, or more broadly with lifestyle change.

So are you tired to waste your money to useless long term memberships?
Then start with our introforløb program:
- 6 weeks of training, 12 sessions
- expert coaching
- behaviour change support (if you don't show up, we call you and ask if everything is ok 😜 )
- perfect kick off
- strong community (closed group of max 8 members)
- real results (we measure it, you will be surprised by your progress!)
- get the change you deserve with a scientific approach--not a year-long membership!

We start tomorrow kl.18:30--Only 2 spots left.

Here is what science says about getting fitter and healthier through exercise.
There are only 6 basic principles you should focus on, to get REAL results. All other things (supplements, type of exercise, etc.) are only optional.

1. Make a consistent, real effort. When you exercise, doing a little is better than nothing, sure. But if you really want to improve, you need to challenge yourself. Especially if you are busy and you train 2-3 times per week, do it consistently and make them count.

2. Proximity to failure. Especially with weight training, compared to endurance training, is important that you try to lift weights until you can't life anymore--with good technique.

3. Progressive overload. Very simple: over time, you must challenge yourself to do more reps or lift more weight. If you maintain the same routine, you won't improve. So, every 2-3 weeks, try to increase the wights a little, or maybe do a few more reps or rounds. Keep doing it and you will get way stronger.

4. Nutrition. You simply cannot get fitter and healthier if you nutrition is unhealthy. Eat as many vegetables as you can, protein (meat, fish, eggs, dairy products, plants), fruit, and nuts/seeds and oils. Try to have 3 main meals during the day. Eat some extra fruit before training if you are going to have a hard session.

5. Sleep quality and quantity is paramount. When you train, your body brakes down. When you sleep, it rebuilds itself stronger. Try to sleep 7-8 hours per day, going to sleep more or less at the same time every night, and make sure that your bedroom is cool, dark and silent.

6. Mental wellbeing. You mental wellbeing affects how much you can train, how well you recover from training, and most importantly your motivation and commitment to personal goals and improvements. Find time to dial down, practice gratitude, do journaling, speak to a professional. Mental health is not negotiable--for training and for quality of life.

Focus on these 6 things, and you'll be healthier and fitter than ever.

We help you prioritize these things at VFitLab. DM me for more info, or comment KLAR and I'll send you all the info. Cheers, Stefano

You are back after holidays and you want to start training?
Focus on these 3 things for a good kickstart:

1. Start easy: you don't need to overdo. Fitness is not built in one "super" training session--and you risk an injury too. So, make a good effort, feel that you are working, but not that you are struggling.
2. Keep it short: 20-30 minutes of focused work is a great starting point. You can actually keep your training sessions to 20-30 minutes for a few weeks and you will get great results.
3. Build the good habit: consistency is the most important thing right now. You are building a new habit and to make it stick, you must prioritize consistency. Make it realistic: can you train 2x week? or maybe 3 times per week? Fine. Stick to your plan.
4. (Bonus) Remember to enjoy the good feeling of satisfaction after training. It's not easy to chose the hard thing (training) over the easy thing (laying on the couch): so don't forget to be thankful to yourself about the fact that you did it.

And if you need extra support, we are here for you:

Do you know why after you exercise, you feel better?

Part of it is biology. Exercise spikes endocannabinoids — molecules that cross your blood-brain barrier, reduce stress, and activate your brain's reward system. This is not a feeling. It's a measurable chemical response that makes you feel better. Every single session.

But there's more.
Solid psychological science tells us a much more compelling story.

When you exercise in the right way, you experience "flow" — that state of absorption and commitment that eliminates boredom, promotes complete engagement, and makes you feel satisfied. It's not about pushing through. It's about making effort feel meaningful.

And then there's progress. Each small win — a heavier lift, a faster km, a session you didn't skip — builds what Bandura called "self-efficacy". Concrete proof, accumulated in your own body, that you are capable.

The reward isn't the result at the end.
The reward is who you become on the way there.

This is what really happens when you exercise and challenge yourself regularly.

Can you keep up the good habits, even during or after summer vacation?

It's easy to slip off newly formed habits, when we go on vacation.
That's because our environments determine our behaviours very much. In fact, behavioural science teaches us that the more we control our environment, the more we control our behaviours (good and bad ones)--even if we don't even realize it.

So the point is not quite to keep your motivation up, or push yourself to exercise purely out of will.

The point is to explore your environments, even on vacation, to keep up your good habits.

For example, I just got one week of vacation in Norway, driving around in different towns. So how could I "use" the environment to my advantage?

Google Maps:
- Where are the playgrounds I could use to find a bar for pull ups? (school playground in Eidfjord in the picture 🏕️)
- Any nice loop trail around me, so I can do an early morning run before the kids wake up?
- Maybe a nice lake or beach close to me, for a swim and a workout?

Simple strategies actually work much better than motivation.
Get after it 😎👍

How many sacrifices does it take to get a six-pack?
I don't know. Because I don't have one 💪😎

What I do have: I lift more, run farther and faster than when I was 25.
And most importantly, I feel strong and energetic for everyday life.

Real results that actually matter.

If you want to be lean, and feel strong full of energy — we're starting our next introforløb at VFitLab in week 31.

Only 5 spots left.
