The ADHD brain is often discussed as though it exists separately from the rest of the body. But our ability to concentrate and regulate emotions may also be influenced by sleep, nourishment, physical health, and the communication between the gut and brain.
This has created enormous interest in supplements—but also plenty of exaggerated promises.
Supplements may have a place in individualized care, particularly when a genuine need has been identified. However, no single supplement is right for every ADHD brain, and “natural” does not automatically mean safe.
