We often expect ourselves to move quickly from one role or state into another.
From work mode to family life.
From being analytical and task-oriented to being emotionally present.
And when that shift does not happen instantly, many of us become frustrated with ourselves — and sometimes even with the people around us.
What stands out to me in many sessions is that we already understand transitions when it comes to children. We help them prepare, slow down and move from one activity to another — often through small routines or rituals.
But we do not always offer ourselves the same support.
A few quiet minutes. A walk. Music in the car. Closing the laptop with intention.
Something that helps our body and mind register: one part of the day is ending, and another is beginning!
