Together is where we thrive ❤️

This weekend, 27 of our 48 wonderful team members came together for our annual Teacher Retreat.

We went to the beach, shared meals, talked (a lot!), laughed, stayed up late, slowed down, enjoyed each other’s company and shared our yoga practice.

Being a yoga teacher can sometimes be a lonely job.
That’s why creating a sense of belonging among our teachers matters so much to us.

Community is at the heart of what we do at The Yoga Flat.
And that community starts with the people who make up our team.

We’re so grateful for these wonderful humans and for the energy, care and dedication they bring to The Yoga Flat every single day. ❤️

8 days to go. An Afternoon of Kirtan & Community

Join us on August 29 for an afternoon of mantra, music and community with Jakob Weise and Peter Lund.

Through kirtan — call-and-response chanting of ancient mantras — we’ll explore the power of sound and collective voice to quiet the mind and create space for inner stillness.

Jakob will lead the kirtan with harmonium, guitar and vocals, joined by Peter on bass and guitar. We’ll also explore songs and invocations from the Baul tradition, which deeply inspires Jakob.

No previous experience needed. All levels are welcome.

We’re so happy to welcome Stis back to the studio!

Stis has been part of The Yoga Flat since the very beginning, and after a little break, she’s now back on the schedule.

She brings a playful and nerdy approach to her teaching, rooted in classical yoga traditions, flow yoga, movement, and meditation. With a joyful and curious perspective on what yoga can offer, she creates space to explore the body, movement, and breath, inviting curiosity, freedom, and play into her classes.

Our Yoga Alliance accredited 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training starts August 28 and runs until December 6.

Over eight immersive weekends, you’ll explore:

On Monday, May 25, Royal Run will take over the city, which may make it a bit more difficult to get around and arrive on time for class.

Make sure to leave home earlier than usual and plan your route in advance.

Reminder ☀️ Copenhagen Marathon is taking over the city this Sunday, May 10 ☀️

As all 3 of our studios are located in central Copenhagen, the marathon route passes close to every location, which may make it a little more difficult to arrive on time.

Please give yourself some extra time getting to the studio and check your route before heading out.

As always, we lock the doors when class begins to keep everyone’s belongings safe while we practice.

We can’t wait to see you, whether you arrive by mat, bike, or marathon detour.

A decade ago, a small yoga space opened in Christianshavn, built on a simple vision and a lot of heart.

10 years later, we’re celebrating something much bigger than we ever expected. What started as one room has grown into three locations, a full weekly schedule of classes, and a wide range of workshops and trainings.

Along the way, we’ve had the privilege of working with many inspiring teachers from all over the world, and welcoming thousands of students through our doors each year.
Some of you come back again and again, others just once, but every single presence has left a mark on this space.

We don’t take that for granted.

We’re deeply grateful to be able to do this work, and to continue creating a space where people can pause, reconnect, and explore their practice, in their own way, at their own pace.

To everyone who has been part of the journey, teachers, students, collaborators, and supporters, thank you for shaping what this studio is today.

And if you’re holding onto an idea or a dream of your own, consider this a small nudge: you don’t have to have it all figured out. Starting is enough.

Here’s to 10 years of practice, community, and growth… and to everything still ahead.
