'Melatonin for preoperative and postoperative anxiety in adults'

Melatonin was found to be effective at reducing anxiety before surgery, when compared to placebo. Melatonin was not found to be as effective against anxiety after surgery. It is reasonable to believe that the effect of melatonin on anxiety before surgery was similar to benzodiazepine medications, which are associated with more adverse risks than melatonin.

Some researchers are tempted to use creative (but still incorrect) language to make their so-called 'negative' results more interesting. Here is a list of rubbish.
This kind of language is not recommended (but fun to read!)!

The conclusions and the certainty of evidence have changed for one outcome. There is now high certainty evidence for a reduction in acute confusional state with the use of peripheral nerve blocks:

Our new Rapid Review on ‘Oxygen targets in the intensive care unit during mechanical ventilation for acute respiratory distress syndrome’ (including ARDS secondary to COVID-19 or other viruses) is now published!

The key message is:
