The Thematic Research Agency in Health and Life Sciences.
✅️ Technology transfer for three research products under the national research programs of the economic partner.
Signing of three actual technology transfer agreements between the ATRSSV, project leaders, commercialization institutions, and relevant economic and social partners. These agreements reflect the commitment of the higher education and scientific research sector and the Agency to transferring applied research results from the laboratory to the field, thereby directly benefiting society and the national economy.
1️⃣ In the field of food security, the technology transfer and commercialization agreement focused on a smart incubator with a capacity of 1,056 eggs, named “ALG-SMART EGGS INCUBATOR,” developed by a research team from the University of Djelfa led by Professor Boudaïaf Mohamed.
This incubator, designed for agricultural investors, is an innovative technological solution based on an automated system that can be delivered and used directly in the agricultural field, powered by solar energy and equipped with a smart control unit. This technology enables a hatching rate of over 90 percent, reduces production costs by 50 percent, and cuts energy consumption by 50 percent. Thanks to its practical and economical nature and its adaptability to the realities of agricultural activity, this incubator demonstrates the national research community’s ability to provide practical solutions to boost poultry production and contribute to food security.
2️⃣ In the field of citizens' health, two technology transfer agreements were signed for solutions developed by two research teams from the University of Sidi Bel Abbès, which are currently in active use at a healthcare facility in Sidi Bel Abbès. The first solution involves a device for sterilizing medical and surgical instruments and hospital supplies using ozone, developed by Professor Nassour Kamal’s team. The second solution is a device for treating and neutralizing infectious medical waste using ozone, developed by Professor Telmatine Ammar’s team.
These two innovations address major challenges related to public health, hospital safety, and the sustainable management of healthcare waste. Their actual use in the hospital setting is a clear indicator of their technological maturity and underscores the importance of the support provided by the Thematic ATRSSV in aligning scientific research with the real needs of healthcare institutions and end-users.
✅️ These agreements were signed in the presence of the rector of the University of ElDjelfa, the director of agricultural services for the same wilaya, the vice-rector of the University of Sidi Bel Abbès, the director of the Sidi Bel Abbès Hospital, and the head of the business incubator at the University of Sidi Bel Abbès.
