๐ง A soundtrack for recovery: Music for Psychedelic Therapy by Jon Hopkins
What happens when a world-renowned electronic composer creates an album designed not to demand your attention, but to give your mind space?
Released in 2021, Music for Psychedelic Therapy is Jon Hopkinsโ 60-minute immersive journey built from evolving soundscapes, spacious harmonies and natural recordings.
Before creating the album, Hopkins composed music for psilocybin-assisted therapy research at Imperial College London, exploring how sound can shape immersive human experiences.
The result is a continuous listening experience: no catchy hooks, no sudden changes, just an invitation to slow down and listen.
For nurses, who spend long shifts surrounded by alarms, conversations, decisions and constant stimulation, moments of quiet can be rare. This album offers a different kind of listening experience, one that creates space between the intensity of the shift and the need to recover.
No repetitive melodies. No marked rhythms. No lyrics. Just layers of sound, silence and space inviting you to step away from the noise for 60 minutes.
๐ง Listen to it during a break or just add it to your post-shift playlist and experience the journey from beginning to end.
