Some teams have summer parties.

Ours apparently joins forces on a pirate ship, climbs walls, battles with foam sticks, takes on sky-high adventure trails, throws discs and somehow calls it a normal Friday.

Last week, before our collective holiday, our team gathered by Lake Võrtsjärv for a proper summer reset. A reminder that behind every sauna we send out into the world, there is a pretty wild, warm and growing team.

The weather showed off. The team showed up. We are now taking a short collective break to breathe, rest and return with fresh energy. Our production and warehouse will be closed during this time.

Wishing everyone a slow, sunny and very good summer ☀️

We’re at the World Sauna Forum in Jyväskylä, Finland! 🇫🇮

Meeting partners, connecting with clients and making the most of real sauna experiences. These are exactly the kind of conversations and moments that keep this industry moving forward 🔥

So far, it has been inspiring as always. Great people, great energy and plenty of sauna spirit. Let’s keep it going!

April was movement month at Leil® and our team really took it seriously. We took part in the “Sammukoguja” step challenge organised by Firmasport, and our top 3 walkers alone collected a total of 2 478 491 steps. Our 1st place winner walked over 1.1 million steps in just one month. Wild. The commitment was so real that in the final days of the challenge, even the winner’s treadmill gave up before he did.

Of course, after all that walking we had to restore the balance somehow, so we celebrated with kringel and happily ate some of those calories back.

Many of our colleagues said the challenge helped them build a great habit, and even the weeks after have been more active because of it. Such a great initiative and we definitely recommend it to other teams as well!

It’s not just about heat - it’s about how the steam (leil) feels.

So what is leil? Leil (Estonian, noun) - “sauna steam” is the burst of heat and v***r created by ladling water onto hot stones, and therefore the sacred ritual of making it.

How do you throw leil the right way?

Start with the basics:
• Let the sauna heat up to 50–60°C
• Begin throwing leil at 60–70°C
• Ideal sauna temperature range: 70–80°C

Then focus on the technique:
• Use small amounts of water
• Pour onto one spot evenly
• Do not pour a large amount of water over the entire heater

Save it for your next sauna session and share the best leil with a friend 🤍

Cold after sauna, but make it smarter ❄️🔥

A cold plunge after sauna is a well-known ritual but the initial shock can feel intense.

A more mindful approach would be:

→ try a short cold exposure before sauna
→ then go deeper with cold plunge after sauna

Why?
Your nervous system gets a gentle intro, so post-sauna cold feels calmer, not overwhelming.

For women: cold tolerance isn’t always the same - your cycle, stress and energy levels matter. Adjust, don’t push.

We've written more about this on our website journal, based on research and studies. Read more there.
