ASSIUT ARTHROSCOPY AND SPORTS INJURY UNIT (AASIU) FELLOWSHIP 2025
Dear Colleagues:
On behalf of Assiut Arthroscopy and sport injuries unit (AASIU) we would like to invite you to apply for the scholarship program of 2025. Because of the limited places available and huge number of candidates requested to attend in the unit, we decided to select 4 candidates, who will benefit most from attending the program. Application is allowed for Egyptians and non-Egyptians.
Obligatory requirement for the application:
1- Master degree of orthopedic surgery or equivalent certificates.
2- Attended at least one arthroscopic course (theoretical) and/or workshops (Practical) in Egypt or outside.
Preferable requirements for the application:
1- Attended at least one of the courses of AASIU.
2- Having some basics of arthroscopic surgery is preferable but not a must.
3- Interested in research and/or having publications related to arthroscopic surgery.

* Attach a copy of your CV that include your picture and contact data, current place of work, previous experiences and publications.
* The Picture in the C.V. and the application should be recent.

* The final date to send the application will be the 6th September 2024.
Selection process:
Eligible Candidate living in Egypt will be contacted to attend a short interview in the Assiut Arthroscopy and sports injury unit (inside Assiut University hospital). The Date of the Interview will be announced later. Candidates applying from abroad will be interviewed through a Skype call, google meet or WhatsApp video call.
Scholarship program and duties:
* It is fulltime Fellowship. You are expected to attend 5 Times a week. Part-time attendance is not acceptable.
* Hand on training on an arthroscopy training station 1 hour a day, 5 days a week.
* Attend the Outpatient clinic 1-2 days a week.
* Assist in the operative interventions 3-4 days a week.
* Pre and post-operative patients assessments
* Prepare and Present Patients in the weekly conference.
* Share in the scientific activities, Research work.
* Help on research Projects.
Expectations:
At the end of the scholarship program and in case of full engagement in the duties and activities we expect that you will be able to:
* Proper examination of patients with shoulder, knee and hip pathologies.
* Take the correct decision regarding the interventions of the above mentioned pathologies.
* Master the basic arthroscopic skills like instruments management and triangulation.
* Perform diagnostic arthroscopic surgery of the knee, shoulder.
* Perform some Arthroscopic and open joints surgical procedures .
* Assist in advanced open and arthroscopic surgeries of the knee, shoulder, hip and ankle
Fees:
In general Candidates have to pay 300 dollars for the Unit monthly regardless of the nationality (Egyptians and non-Egyptians). Physicians working in the institutes and clinics of the Egyptian Ministry of health as well as the Egyptian Universities will have a discount and have to pay only 3000 Egyptian Pounds Monthly.
