Dr. Riad is a Canadian trained Psychiatrist with over 25 years of experience. He is a member of the Canadian Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, and the Canadian Medical Association. He is registered with the Medical Council of Canada.

His interests cover the areas of emergency psychiatry & crisis intervention, treatment of children & adolescents with su***de & severe and disabling psychiatric illness, and medical education where he taught at the University of Toronto, Medical School for over 20 years. One of the terms that is commonly confused with the term ‘Psychology’ is ‘Psychiatry’. Because the difference between both terms is unknown to some, the terms tend to be interchangeably used as synonyms; However, there is a distinct difference where a Psychiatrist is a medical doctor who focuses on mental health problems and is qualified to prescribe medications if needed. Unlike a Psychologist who is qualified to offer assessment, consultation and therapy without prescribing medications.
