Not all droopy eyelids are the same.

A droopy eyelid (ptosis) can affect one eye or both, and it can occur in children or adults. Although the appearance may look similar, the underlying cause and the treatment can be completely different.

In children, early evaluation is especially important because significant ptosis can interfere with normal visual development and may lead to amblyopia ("lazy eye").

In adults, ptosis may develop gradually with age, after surgery or trauma, from contact lens wear, neurological conditions, or other underlying causes.

The key is not simply lifting the eyelid it's identifying why it has drooped in the first place.

Every eyelid tells a story. The diagnosis determines the treatment.
