Sculptra vs. Radiesse-which collagen stimulator is better?
Wrong question. They’re two completely different tools.
Sculptra is made with poly-L-lactic acid.
It creates a controlled response within the tissue that activates fibroblasts and gradually stimulates your own collagen. I love it for soft, diffused restoration, improved firmness and that healthy, refreshed glow that develops over time.
Radiesse is made with calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres. Those microspheres create a scaffolding within the tissue, providing support while stimulating collagen. Depending on how it’s diluted and placed, Radiesse can improve skin quality, create visible tightening and give a more defined,
“snatched” effect.
Sculptra typically develops gradually over several weeks to months. Radiesse may provide more immediate support, while collagen remodeling continues afterward. So, is one better? No. The right choice depends on your anatomy, skin quality, degree of volume loss and the result we’re trying to create. Some patients may benefit from one, both or neither.
Save this for your next consultation and send it to someone who is still calling every injectable “filler.”
Individual results and treatment plans vary. An in-person assessment is required.
