Bedwetting is common — and it is never a child’s fault. 💗
Many children need more time for their bladder, brain and night-time hormone rhythm to mature. Constipation, bladder habits during the day, genetics and difficulty waking to bladder signals can all play a role.
The most important first steps are often simple:
💧 enough fluids throughout the day
🚽 regular, relaxed toilet visits with the feet supported
💩 keeping bowel movements soft and regular
🤍 support without shame, pressure or punishment
Restricting drinks in the evening or waking a sleeping child to use the toilet may help keep the bed dry occasionally, but neither addresses the whole problem.
Bedwetting can be treated, and families do not have to wait until it becomes distressing before asking for help.
Save this post for later and share it with a parent who may need some reassurance.
