Last Sunday we took a walk up to the local hermitage for the fiesta de verdiales, one of the oldest and purest traditions of pre-flamenco music only found in the countryside of the Malaga Region. Various competing groups play the Almogia style of verdiales in a riot of castanets, guitars, violins, flags, dancers and stunning views towards the sea! Ole!
