✨ FASCIA & EMOTIONS
Fascia is the connective tissue that envelops all the organs of our body, from muscles to cells. A network that connects all parts of our organism. From the beginning to the end of our lives, it plays a vital role in our structure, support and movement. It holds the memory of every step we take on this earth.
The fascia is responsible for protecting and enveloping of each of our structures, and that also means allowing each and every one to articulate and glide over others. Herein lies one of the many wonders of our body: there are no empty spaces, and many structures share spaces.
When this gliding layer (moist, flexible, viscous) suffers from lack of movement, accident or emotional trauma, the tissues tend to adhere, dry out and accumulate toxins.
After much development in the field of somato-emotional health, it is undeniable that our body responds to our emotions. An emotional trauma is a psychological wound that can affect us consciously or unconsciously and lodges somewhere in our system, generating some pathology, dysfunction, restriction, or pain.
What happens when one of these emotions gets stuck and, over time, becomes chronic pain?
This pain is caused by a restriction in a specific area, and over time it will generate a "pattern of restriction," affecting and compromising more and more areas of our system. The body and mind then have to adapt with all kinds of compensations, generating a new, increasingly entropic organization.
FASCIA RELEASE is a proposal for a paradigm shift, where conscious and respectful "touch" fosters self-healing processes that other more invasive, forceful, or routine-based techniques cannot achieve. The tissue itself should guide the therapist in the session, at a pace that allows the client to develop their proprioception and where the entire body structure is reintegrated and reorganized.
Learning to work with the Fascia is the key to unlocking hope in this new paradigm in the world of manual therapies.
