«Me quedaré».
No gracias a mí.

Today, I spoke from the deepest place in my heart to the Sangha , and personally to a few others.
The truth is, I find myself carrying a role I never asked for.
I never dreamed of giving wangs or sitting through long ceremonies and Tshoks for hours. My back hurts, my legs hurt... and yes, after enough hours, even my ass hurts. 😂
But every time I take my seat, I remind myself why I am there.
I am there for you.
I am there for my lineage.
I am there for the commitments I made.
Whether or not I asked for this responsibility no longer matters.
Because now I know what it means to people.
I know the faith with which some of you come.
I know the prayers you carry inside.
I know that some come with broken hearts,
some with illness,
some carrying grief,
some simply searching for a little hope.
And when I remember that, my own discomfort suddenly becomes very small.
That thought humbles me more than I can put into words.
Please do not mistake any of this for complaining.
I know how extraordinarily blessed I am.
I know what a privilege it is to carry this lineage, even for a little while.
But being grateful does not mean pretending that everything is easy.
Sometimes the things we love most ask the most from us.
Sometimes the greatest blessings are also the heaviest things we will ever carry.
And sometimes devotion is simply remaining there when the body is hurting, when the heart is tired, when nobody sees the effort.. Even so..
“I will stay.”
So when you see me sitting there, please remember..
In my heart, I am sitting there for you.
And as long as this body allows me, I will continue to do so.
Even when my back hurts.
Even when my legs hurt.
And yes... even when my poor ass has completely given up on me. 😂
I will still sit there.
For you.
For my teachers.
For those who carried this lineage before me.
And for those who will carry it after me.
Because one day, whether I like it or not, my seat will be empty.
One day I will no longer be here to give another wang, lead another Tshok, say another prayer with you, laugh with you, or complain about how badly my back hurts.
And on that day, all I can hope is that I will have given enough.
Loved enough.
Served enough.
And carried what was entrusted to me with enough sincerity that, when I finally place it into someone else’s hands, the flame will still be burning.
Not because of me.
But because everyone before me refused to let it go out.
And because, for whatever time I was given, neither did I.
So when I offer the Dharma, as I did today, please know that I am not simply performing a responsibility.
I am giving you something from the deepest part of myself.
Perhaps that is why it sometimes hurts.
That is the truth from my heart.
