What happens to an embryo during those first few days? 🧬✨

🔬 Day 1: Fertilization confirmed
The first signs of successful fertilization appear, with two pronuclei visible inside the fertilized egg.

🔬 Days 2–3: Cell division
The embryo starts dividing into more cells, progressing through the early cleavage stages.

🔬 Day 4: Morula stage
The cells become more compact and closely connected as the embryo prepares for the blastocyst stage.

🔬 Days 5–6: Blastocyst
The embryo develops into a blastocyst, with two distinct cell populations: the inner cell mass (ICM) and the trophectoderm. Suitable blastocysts may then be selected for transfer, biopsy, or vitrification depending on the treatment plan.

Every embryo develops at its own pace, which is why continuous monitoring in the embryology laboratory is such an important part of IVF. ❤️

Watching these numbers change during IVF can feel emotional. But a lower number at each stage does not automatically mean something went wrong. 💫

This natural drop-off is expected part of embryo development and happens even when everything is progressing as expected.

And when it comes to IVF, more isn’t always better. Quality matters. One mature egg and one s***m can be enough to create a beautiful blastocyst, and ultimately, the baby you’ve been hoping for. ✨

So if you’re waiting for your next lab update, remember that every number is just one part of the story. What matters is the potential of the embryos that continue developing. 🔬

While acupuncture isn’t a fertility treatment on its own, it can be a valuable complement to IVF as part of a holistic approach to reproductive care.

Research suggests that acupuncture may help support fertility by promoting relaxation, reducing stress, improving blood flow to the uterus and ovaries, and creating a greater sense of physical and emotional well-being throughout treatment.

In this video, our acupuncturist Rosanna shares why acupuncture has become an important part of fertility care for many patients and what the evidence tells us about its potential role alongside assisted reproduction.

✨ At Reproclinic, we believe fertility care goes beyond medical treatment. That’s why we offer holistic therapies designed to support your body and soul.

Some decisions are made with the mind. Others take time for the heart to catch up. ❤️‍🩹

Choosing IVF with donor eggs is often one of the most emotional decisions on the path to parenthood. Alongside hope, it can bring uncertainty, grief, questions, and even guilt. All of these feelings are valid.

The important thing to remember is that there is no “right” way to process this journey. You don’t have to have every answer today, and you don’t have to navigate these emotions alone.

Take your time. Ask questions. Learn about your options. Speak with professionals, and give yourself the space to make the decision that feels right for you. 🌸

If you’re considering IVF with donor eggs, our team is here to provide honest information, compassionate guidance, and support every step of the way. ❤️

What happens after an embryo biopsy (for PGT)? 🔬

Once an embryo reaches the blastocyst stage (typically on day 5 or 6 of development), a few cells are carefully taken from its outer layer, called the trophectoderm.

The collected cells are then placed into a tiny sterile tube, a process known as tubing, and sent to a specialized genetics laboratory for analysis. This is where PGT-A is performed to assess whether the embryo has the correct number of chromosomes.

While the genetic testing is being completed, the embryo itself is safely vitrified and stored in our laboratory. Once the results are available, your fertility specialist will review them with you and discuss which embryo is the most suitable for transfer.

✨ In this video, our embryologist Carla shows you the tubing process - the final laboratory step before the biopsy sample begins its journey for genetic analysis.

Wondering what IVF with PGT-A actually looks like? 🧬

While every fertility journey is unique, understanding the treatment process can help you feel more prepared and confident about what lies ahead.

PGT-A (Preimplantation Genetic Testing for Aneuploidy) is an additional step in IVF that analyzes the number of chromosomes in embryos before transfer. For some patients, it can help support embryo selection and provide valuable information when planning the next stage of treatment. ✨

Whether PGT-A is recommended depends on your individual medical history and fertility goals.

If you’re considering IVF with PGT-A, our specialists are here to answer your questions and help you determine whether it’s the right option for you.
