Nil is almost three years old, and he wakes up three or four times every night. Oh, and he snores too — every night.
He lives in Andorra and it took him almost three hours to get to my clinic. Before that, he had been seen by an ENT specialist, a paediatrician and a paediatric dentist… and, according to his mother, none of them gave this issue much importance. Dissatisfied with the answers, she kept looking for information and eventually found her way here.
Habitual snoring —that is, snoring that occurs more than three nights a week— may be caused by an upper-airway obstruction; and even when no apnoeas are observed, it should be assessed rather than ignored. And it’s not just me saying this: the scientific literature says so too.
I wonder how many dentists, paediatricians and ENT specialists there are between Andorra and Barcelona… and they still had to come all the way to me. Why?
