I've danced with Fire my entire adult life.

But I've never known it's flames at my feet for knowing how to heal with herbs.

I've surrounded myself with sparks and embers for my work, but I've never been surrounded by inescapable lethal and consuming heat because my gender wasn't trusted to stay working for so little renumeration.

I've spoken through flames to express myself, but never been shut down by a flamethrower of uninformed ridicule or cut down by invisible unspeakable barriers.

I've been burned from my own mistakes but never been burned by the self-righteousness of others who would blame my clothes for their transgressions.
