̶E̶n̶T̶E̶ꓤ̶
I spent years trying to take off every mask.
Recently, I found myself putting on a new one.
Cold. Commanding. Unapologetic.
A character that couldn’t have felt further from the identity I usually call « me »
Yet somehow, she revealed a part of myself I had kept hidden, buried beneath the belief that being a good person meant always being kind, accommodating, and soft.
Through this mask, I learned that boundaries don’t always need an explanation.
And it made me wonder…
What if some parts of us need a role before they feel safe enough to exist?
Perhaps the self isn’t something we uncover by removing every mask.
Perhaps it’s what remains free enough to wear them all.
