Hello everyone, I'm Jackie. Although I've only been offering massage therapy in Javea for the last couple of years, I've been a massage therapist for nearly 10 years. I previously worked in Vancouver, London and Auckland. "How often should I get massage?" This is an often asked question and it depends entirely on the individual. In general, it is beneficial to receive a massage every 4-6 weeks to help reduce stress, increase range of motion and improve overall well-being. This is what I call the 'prevention program.' Alternatively, you have the 'fixing program' which is when you come in for some specific injury or problem - a sore shoulder from training, for example. In this situation, I prefer to provide treatments 1x per week for 2 or 3 weeks and decrease frequency from that point. If the problem is only treated 1 time a month, it is very unlikely it will improve or resolve. My goal is to move clients from the 'fixing program' into the 'prevention program.' We only get one life to live and I want for people to live it how they wish, in the least amount of pain as possible.
