“I realised how much I had rejected this part of myself my entire life.”
This message landed in my inbox a few weeks after a session.
Not after months of pelvic floor training.
Not after a complicated treatment plan.
But after one session in which we explored her relationship with her body.
So many women carry an unconscious judgement towards their bodies.
Towards their belly.
Their pelvis.
Their v***a.
Their va**na.
A judgement that often started years ago.
Perhaps through perfectionism.
Perhaps through comparison.
Through messages from media.
Comments from others.
A feeling of not being good enough.
Not beautiful enough.
Not feminine enough.
Over time, this can create disconnection.
And when we disconnect from a part of ourselves, we often stop listening to it.
We tighten.
Protect.
Numb.
Control.
The body adapts.
And sometimes that adaptation shows up as pelvic floor tension, urinary symptoms, pain, difficulty relaxing, or a feeling of being disconnected from your feminine essence.
During our session, we didn’t focus on strengthening muscles.
We focused on listening.
On becoming aware of the stories she carried about her body.
The beliefs she had absorbed.
The rejection she had unknowingly directed towards herself for years.
A few weeks later she sent me this:
“I notice a real difference in my pelvic floor. I do some exercises daily, but I also speak and think much more lovingly about my va**na. I realised how much I had rejected that part of myself throughout my life and I’m consciously softening that relationship. That insight came from our session. I haven’t experienced any urine leakage since. It’s quite remarkable.”
Healing is rarely just physical.
Sometimes the body is waiting for us to change the relationship we have with ourselves.
And from that place, things can begin to soften in ways we never expected.
✨ The pelvis is not only a group of muscles.
It is also the place where our stories, emotions, beliefs and self-image come together.
And sometimes, healing begins with compassion rather than correction.
