Case History of Dr. Brian McLaren
A client presented with a constant, irritating, low-grade, unproductive cough. Normally one would treat LU points on the thumb and CV points on the chest and throat. To treat the 14 standard points, I asked the client to take his shoes and socks off, so I may start on his feet. On doing so it was obvious he had a massive scar on one big toe where he had dropped a chainsaw on it. I treated the scar and his cough stopped. In the ear the somatotopic (body) map has the fingers next to the toes.
One can group fingers and toes, wrists and ankles, elbows and knees, and shoulders and hips. As horses work on the diagonal, a sore hindquarter will cause the animal to step short on the diagonal front leg.
When assessing an animal always be thinking of possible relationships.
