Today at Cirugía Sanchinarro from HMHospitales, we would like to highlight the recent observership completed by Dr Valentina Ferri, who spent one month at the Department of Colon and Re**al Surgery of Mayo Clinic, one of the world’s leading healthcare institutions.

During her stay, she had the opportunity to observe advanced robotic colorectal surgery and gain firsthand insight into the clinical, academic, and multidisciplinary approach that characterises the department.

We would like to express our gratitude to Dr Larson for making this experience possible and for his generosity and professionalism in sharing his expertise and surgical knowledge.

This observership reflects Cirugía Sanchinarro’s commitment to continuous professional development, innovation, and the adoption of best practices in patient care.

Hoy, de ha estado presente en la XXVIII Reunión de Cirugía HBP, celebrada en el Hospital Universitario Príncipe de Asturias, dedicada al tratamiento quirúrgico del cáncer de páncreas.

Participamos con la ponencia: “Cirugía de frontera y rescate vascular. Técnicas de reconstrucción venosa y arterial para tumores localmente avanzados”.

Today, from attended the 28th HBP Surgery Meeting, held at Hospital Universitario Príncipe de Asturias, focused on the surgical treatment of pancreatic cancer.

We participated with the lecture: “Frontier surgery and vascular rescue: venous and arterial reconstruction techniques for locally advanced tumours.”

Ayer tuvo lugar en el Hospital Universitario HM Sanchinarro el Acto de bienvenida y despedida MIR y EIR de HM Hospitales, celebrado en el Auditorio Reina Sofía.

El acto contó con la presencia del Dr. Juan Abarca Cidón, presidente de HM Hospitales, y con la participación de la Dra. Yolanda Quijano como madrina de la promoción.

Una jornada institucional dedicada a reconocer el esfuerzo y la trayectoria de quienes finalizan una etapa clave de su formación sanitaria especializada, así como a dar la bienvenida a los nuevos residentes que comienzan su camino profesional en HM Hospitales.

Yesterday, HM Sanchinarro University Hospital hosted the HM Hospitales MIR and EIR Welcome and Farewell Ceremony, held at the Reina Sofía Auditorium.

The ceremony was attended by Dr Juan Abarca Cidón, President of HM Hospitales, and featured Dr Yolanda Quijano as patron of the graduating class.

This institutional event recognised the dedication and achievements of those completing a key stage in their specialised healthcare training, while also welcoming the new residents beginning their professional journey at HM Hospitales.

We contributed with oral communications, video presentations, and a poster, focused on abdominal wall surgery and minimally invasive techniques, with a strong emphasis on robotic surgery.

La semana pasada, de estuvo presente en el XXIX Congreso Nacional de la Asociación Española de Coloproctología (AECP), celebrado en Toledo (13–15 de mayo de 2026).

Un encuentro científico de referencia para compartir conocimiento, actualizar práctica clínica y seguir avanzando en una atención cada vez más centrada en el paciente y su entorno.

Desde de , junto con la Sección de Pared Abdominal de la , presentamos el protocolo del estudio SCAR.

Se trata de un proyecto multicéntrico que analizará el abordaje quirúrgico de las hernias inguinoescrotales, comparando cirugía abierta y técnicas mínimamente invasivas (laparoscópica y robótica) en un escenario complejo con evidencia aún limitada .

Una iniciativa colaborativa entre centros de Madrid para generar evidencia de calidad y mejorar la toma de decisiones en cirugía de la pared abdominal.

From HM Sanchinarro University Hospital, together with the Abdominal Wall Section of the Madrid Surgical Association, we present the protocol for the SCAR study.

This is a multicentre project that will analyse the surgical management of inguinoscrotal hernias, comparing open surgery with minimally invasive techniques (laparoscopic and robotic) in a complex setting where evidence is still limited.

A collaborative initiative among centres in Madrid to generate high-quality evidence and improve decision-making in abdominal wall surgery.
