This changed the way I think about gut health:
Your gut microbiome starts forming the moment you're born and keeps changing based not only on what you eat, but also on how you sleep, whether you feel supported, and even how much time you spend outside.

Your gut affects way more than digestion. Immunity, mood, hormones, skin...it's all connected.

I put together a full breakdown of how to feed your gut well, what's trending in gut health, and the small daily habits that actually move the needle.

Gut microbiome: trillions of microorganisms that influence everything from digestion and immunity to mood and metabolism.

This eclipse is wanting you to unstick yourself.

If you’ve felt unusually raw the last few days, that is why.

Eclipses surface what’s unfinished. Old grief, old tenderness, things you thought you’d already moved through might come knocking again, asking for one more honest look.

I know it’s annoying :) But this isn’t a setback. Things you’re facing are things youre healing! Again, things you’re facing are things you’re healing.
Healing is never a straight line. Think of it as a spiral instead. You circle back to the same places, but each time, you meet them with more capacity than before.

Key word: capacity.

You don’t need a length ritual for this. Just your breath, your hand on your chest, and a willingness to feel what’s there without rushing to explain it. You do need to feel all the feels.

What’s rising for you this week? Tell me below.
xx Ivy

PS: If you believe we’re not separate from what’s happening above us, you’ll feel at home in The Circle. Our nervous systems respond to rhythm, to light, to cycles. That’s not a coincidence, it’s the whole point. Come find your people in the Ivy Chan Wellness community. Link in bio.

A few weeks ago, I got a message that made me cry in front of my husband and kiddo.

A woman in our community — navigating cancer treatment, week four of chemo and radiation, walking hospital corridors on the hard days, sipping broth, asking all the right questions, and absolutely rocking life — told me she's going to write a book one day.

She said she'd call it "How Ivy Chan saved my life."

I had to put my phone down.

Here's the truth: she is saving her own life. Every single day. I am just someone who picks up the phone.

This work is a privilege I don't take lightly — and one I get to hold while still showing up for the people closest to me too.

There are two wrongs in assuming that Artificial Intelligence is inevitable:
1. It’s not an intelligence and
2. It’s not inevitable.

AI is being marketed as a force in which we all have to invest and which we all have to adopt (or else).

All politicians, marketers, social media gurus seem to be playing along with this idea.

It’s ridiculous. And I refuse to be a part of this apocalyptic cult.

And guess what? There’s another timeline, another possibility, another future.
I know I’ll meet you there.

You might not agree with me.

But the most underdiscussed factor in women's health is unprocessed grief.

Not the dramatic, loud kind, maybe. The quiet kind. The functioning kind.
The kind you were too busy to feel, too strong to name, or too practical to honour.
This post is for the women carrying it quietly.

You know who you are.

xx Ivy

PS: The m.a.n.t.r.a method is where this work happens at depth — 90 days to move through what you've been carrying at the body, the mind, and the soul, all at once.

If you've been holding something for a long time and you're ready to finally move through it, that's where we go. Link in bio to join the next cohort.

A woman came to me exhausted in a very specific way. Let's call her Diane. Diane was not tired-tired. She was managing tired.

Diane had the supplement stack. The therapist. The yoga app. The ring. The sleep tracker. Everything addressed. Nothing connected.

Three weeks into really reading her (body, mind, and soul, together, not as three separate charts), we found it: a nervous system that had been bracing since before she could remember. It showed up as gut trouble. As a thought loop about having to earn rest. As a soul that had gone quiet, because nothing had been flowing back in for a long time.

It wasn't five problems. It was one pattern, wearing five costumes.

When she finally saw it — all three layers as one line instead of three separate charts — she said the thing I hear more than almost anything else:

"I've never had anyone connect all of it before."

That's what the app (we call the space The Circle) is built to do. I promise you this: it's not another app to manage. It's a place that reads you as the whole person you already are.

And guess what? It's free to join. No card, no pressure. Just come see if you recognise yourself in it.

It's a quiet kind of affirming when someone else decides your work is worth passing along. 💛

A few of my blog posts were recently picked up by newsletters (ones that reach creatives and small business owners).

There's something full circle about that: I write from my own home-office desk, working through the same patterns I ask my clients to look at, and somehow it goes to inboxes I never pictured.

The posts that got picked up:
--> The hidden cost of high-functioning ADHD: when looking fine is the whole problem
--> Promote your small business & protect your time and energy
--> What you need to know on healthy habits

If any of those titles speak to you, they're all live now on Nourishing Bites (ranked Top 25 Wellness Blog).
I'll drop the links in the comments below.

Grateful these words found their way to a few more people who needed them. xx Ivy

Food, psychology, and Ayurvedic wisdom—practical insights to nourish body, mind, and soul.

There's a lot of noise right now about the cyclosporiasis outbreak linked to Taylor Farms iceberg lettuce — recalled products, conflicting headlines, confusion about what's actually safe.

Here's what I want you to remember: this isn't about fear; it's about tuning back into how we source and prepare our food.

A few grounded steps, straight from food safety experts:

--> Skip bagged, pre-washed lettuce and salad mixes for now — buy whole heads instead
--> Peel back and discard the outer 2-3 leaves before washing
--> Rinse thoroughly under running water — every time, outbreak or not
--> If you're worried about raw greens, your veggies are just as nourishing grilled, roasted, or charred

Your gut is often the first place to whisper when something's off — bloating, fatigue, shifts in digestion. Listening to those patterns and staying rooted in simple food safety practices is part of caring for your whole person, not just reacting to headlines.

Stay informed, do wash your produce, and take care of that gut of yours. 💛
