Why Awakening Within?
From Casa de Alegria to Awakening Within
For many years, I shared my work under the name Casa de Alegria.
Casa de Alegria means House of Joy, and it reflected an important chapter of my journey. It represented a place, a home, a retreat space, and the life that was gradually being created around it.
Over time, I began to realise that the deeper thread running through everything I offered was not really about a place.
Whether through yoga, meditation, mentoring, retreats, journaling, breathwork, or simple conversations, the invitation was always the same.
To pause.
To become more aware.
To meet ourselves honestly.
To remember what has been there all along.
The work was never really about arriving somewhere else, it was about returning to ourselves. Awakening Within emerged naturally from that understanding.
The name reflects something that has quietly informed my work for many years. Much of what I share is rooted in ancient wisdom traditions, particularly Yoga and meditation, not as beliefs to adopt, rather as practical tools for living with greater awareness. Awakening Within feels like an echo of that ancient knowledge, the understanding that what we seek is often not something to acquire, rather something to remember.
It reflects a quieter and more universal invitation. One that is not tied to a location, a practice, or a particular stage of life. Rather, it speaks to the ongoing process of becoming more conscious, more present, and more connected to ourselves and the life we are living.
The name has changed.
The heart of the work remains the same.
With presence,
Caroline
