We have forgotten rhythm...
This is something I have been discovering slowly, through my own path and through the work I do with the body.
Many times we suffer not only because something is wrong, but because we are living at a rhythm that is no longer natural.
We live at the accelerated rhythm of the mind, always rushing, anticipating, controlling, trying to understand everything before we have even felt it.
But the body has another rhythm!
A slower rhythm, a more natural rhythm, a rhythm made of tension, sensation, breath, emotion, and feeling.
The body does not move according to pressure, it does not open because we force it, it does not change because we demand it.
The body changes when we begin to listen.
And maybe this is what we need to remember: that slowing down is not a failure, it is a way of returning to something more real.
When we feel the body, we come back into contact with what is actually happening inside us, the tensions we carry, the emotions we have not listened to, the sensations that were waiting for space.
From there, another rhythm becomes possible.
Not the rhythm of urgency, performance, or control, but the natural rhythm of the body.
A rhythm that is quieter, deeper, and more true.
I wrote a new article on Substack about this: how slowing down and feeling the body can bring us back to a more human way of living...
