While the researchers saw that past experiences showed reflexology helped significantly with patients with Parkinson’s, those patients were also taking medications that were periodically adjusted; it thus made it harder to determine if the improvements were due to the dosage changes and/or the reflexology. This 2025 case study with a woman without any underlying diseases studies the reflexology effects on her tremor syndrome and the significant improvements.

# REFLEXOLOGY PILOT STUDY

In 1989-1990, I was involved in a pilot study to determine the efficacy of reflexology in treating dysmenorrhea. 
The results were very positive, as evidenced by the quote. It was during this time that I realised the value of being able to locate and interpret the various types of reflex textures. It was through this study that the techniques of A.R.T. originated.
Some interesting factors were noted, including an increase in endometrial circulation.

‘In the management of chronic pelvic pain, reflexology is an invaluable and often essential tool.

The evidence would suggest that for the treatment of common menstrual pain, reflexology is the best, non-invasive, drug-free treatment.

HYPERSENSITIVE FEET PT. 2
Do we conclude that the person displaying this type of foot has a serious health problem? Of course not.
However, there are physiological causes of hypersensitive feet (also known as peripheral neuropathy) that need to be considered. Other causes include diabetes, compression or damage to the lower spine, and lack of vitamin B12. Also, people undergoing chemotherapy will often suffer from hypersensitive feet.

The sensitivity I am referring to are people without these conditions, and where many of the reflexes are highly sensitive to the touch, such as those of the kidney/ adrenal.

People whose feet display this sensitivity can be hyper-energetic in nature and can also suffer from allergies such as hay fever and asthma, and therefore will have high histamine levels, which cause elevated nerve sensitivity.

In this case, STATIC contact should be applied to the hypersensitive reflexes. This type of contact can be maintained for 20-30 seconds. Each of the most hyper- reflexes can be contacted in this way in sequential order.

Generally, after three, static contact sessions during each treatment the hypersensitive reflex will be more normal. This will be accompanied by a general feeling of well-being of the patient.
