⭐ Somasense® Practitioner Training: Mind: body somatic hypnotherapy training- online, self-paced course

CPD Event title: Somasense® Practitioner Training: Mind: body somatic hypnotherapy training
Brief Description Of Event:
When we’re working with clients, sometimes it can be hard to move them forwards from a “stuck” point. The mind and body are so closely linked that when we’ve experienced past trauma, it can remain stored in the body. “Top down” approaches focus on changing things at a cognitive level, but sometimes people benefit from a “bottom up” approach: focusing on identifying and releasing somatic experiences. Somasense® draws together somatic modalities and hypnotherapy to create a much-needed protocol for mind-body hypnotherapy work. Upon completion of this workshop, you will be able to call yourself a Somasense® Practitioner and will receive a Certificate and Somasense® logo for use on your marketing materials.
Learning Objectives:
What is the mind:body connection?
Sensory scanning
Information processing
Limbic system
Autonomic Nervous System

Course Structure:
The Somasense® Practitioner Training is structured to provide a flexible and comprehensive learning experience for hypnotherapists. Delivered through a combination of video lectures and downloadable resources, including scripts, resources and practitioner guides, the course is divided into clear, self-paced modules. These modules cover the foundation of the Somasense® practical hypnosis techniques, client management strategies, and marketing your services. Brief Description Of Event:

Whether you are seeking to improve your skills or enhance your work by practising what you preach, this theoretical and experiential Mindfulness CPD has something for you.
Most of us will be familiar with the term mindfulness and have an awareness of how mindful practice has become popular in recent times. This CPD delves deeper; helping you to explore background and philosophy and learn more about the people who helped to bring mindfulness to prominence as a therapeutic tool. Discover how they took the core concepts of mindfulness and formed them into programmes accessible for all.
There will be an opportunity to discuss the relationship between SFH and mindfulness, alongside discovering research into the effects of mindful practice on the brain and the impact of mindfulness on wellbeing.
The experiential element of this course focuses on tools that you can utilise both with your clients and incorporate into your own self-care to enhance your practice. The CPD will be conducted in a mindful way from the outset, leaving you feeling as relaxed as you are informed.

21 July, 18 August, 15 September, 2026 – Cessation training (smoking, gambling, va**ng)

CPD Event title: Cessation training (smoking, gambling, va**ng)
Brief Description Of Event:
A three-course live CPD programme for hypnotherapists working in cessation. Rather than a folder of scripts, it teaches the complete process from first enquiry to follow-up, including the reasoning behind each stage — built around The Strategy and the concept of The Void, the gap left when a method removes desire but leaves behavioural memory intact, which is what drives so much relapse.
Led by Ernest McLeod, clinical hypnotherapist and trainer with 14 years in cessation practice. Each course runs as four weekly live 90-minute sessions on Google Meet, with recordings, workbooks, scripts and protocols, and lifetime access and re-attendance — around 18 hours of live training, with 30 CPD points recognised by the AHA.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this programme, participants will be able to:

– Recognise why cessation work so often relapses — when a method removes the client’s desire but leaves years of behavioural memory intact — and structure their own work to address that gap (The Void) rather than leave it open.

– Take a client through a complete cessation process, from first enquiry through to follow-up, understanding the purpose and reasoning behind each stage rather than relying on isolated scripts.

– Work from a shift in client identity, not willpower alone, so that change is steadier and less prone to “just one” relapse.

– Apply one consistent process across smoking, gambling and va**ng — recognising what each shares and where each differs — instead of juggling separate techniques for each.

– Work with greater confidence in the room, from a structure they understand well enough to stay present with the client rather than mentally flipping through their notes.

– Use the supplied scripts, protocols and workbooks with a clear understanding of why each is sequenced as it is.
Course Structure:
The programme comprises three courses — smoking, gambling and va**ng cessation — that share the same underlying process, so a practitioner learns one coherent approach and applies it across all three presentations.
Each course runs as four weekly live 90-minute sessions on Google Meet (recorded for anyone unable to attend live), and is organised around three phases:

– Break the Doubt — establishing certainty in both client and practitioner before the cessation work itself begins.

– Build the Strategy — constructing the cessation approach around the individual client and their specific habit pattern.

– Embed the Strategy — anchoring the change at the level of identity so it holds after the session, filling the space the old behaviour leaves behind.
The arc runs the full process from initial enquiry to follow-up, with the reasoning behind each stage made explicit throughout. Participants receive session recordings, workbooks, scripts and protocols, a certificate for each course, and lifetime access with the option to re-attend future live rounds. The programme carries 30 CPD points (10 per course) recognised by the AHA.

14, 21 & 28 September & 05 October, 2026 – When Clients Feel It’s All Too Much: Working with Overwhelm, Distress and Emotional Regulation in Hypnotherapy

CPD Event title: When Clients Feel It’s All Too Much: Working with Overwhelm, Distress and Emotional Regulation in Hypnotherapy
Brief Description Of Event:
A practical, experiential 4-week training designed to help hypnotherapists confidently work with emotionally overwhelmed clients.

Do you ever find yourself second-guessing your direction when a client becomes overwhelmed mid-session, or perhaps more commonly, when they seem generally unable to gain traction with their problems?

You might notice that despite their intellectual understanding, they remain emotionally stuck, unable to process their feelings or focus on solutions. In these moments, it isn’t just about “fixing” a temporary distress; it’s about recognising that the client’s internal capacity has been exceeded. This course teaches you how to identify when the “clinical work” must shift from processing to general stabilisation as a necessary foundation for change.

Most training covers techniques well, but says relatively little about the clinical reality of working with clients who cannot stay within their “window of tolerance.” This course is designed to move you beyond protocol-led practice and help you develop the clinical thinking skills needed to respond flexibly in complex, emotionally nuanced moments.

Learning Objectives:
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
– Identify overwhelm as a specific capacity state and recognise the maintenance cycles that keep clients stuck in distress
– Assess a client’s unique regulation capacity and formulate their stabilisation needs
– Use hypnosis to establish internal and relational safety as a foundation for deeper work
– Apply a clinical decision framework to judge when to stay with difficult emotions and when to pull back
– Navigate the transition from stabilisation to safe emotional processing
– Use hypnosis for emotional processing
– Use reflective practice and nervous system awareness to inform in-session decisions and protect professional wellbeing

Course Structure
Live online, 4 weekly sessions × 2.5 hours (10 hours total)

We meet weekly for four sessions, allowing you to apply concepts in your real-world practice between meetings and bring your reflections back to the group.

Week 1: The Phenomenology of Overwhelm – We move beyond “feeling stressed” to explore overwhelm as a specific capacity state. You will learn to identify the maintenance cycles, biological and psychological, that keep clients stuck in distress and understand why cognitive “top-down” approaches often fail when the nervous system is overloaded.

Week 2: Stabilisation as the Intervention – Clinical work requires a solid foundation. We look at how to assess a client’s unique regulation capacity to build a clear formulation of their needs. We will explore how to use hypnosis to establish the internal and relational safety required before deeper work can even begin.

Week 3: Processing Emotions Safely – One of the most challenging decisions in therapy is knowing when to stay with a difficult emotion and when to pull back. You will learn a clear Decision Framework to navigate this “clinical edge.” We’ll explore the transition from stabilisation to processing, using hypnosis to help clients experience what they have previously avoided

Week 4: Clinical Decision-making, Integration and Your Own Nervous System – We integrate the work into a cohesive treatment arc, from assessment through to integration. You’ll also learn how to navigate the “arriving overwhelmed” scenario and, crucially, how to use reflective practice to protect your own professional wellbeing and sustainability.

Sessions include live demonstrations, skills practice, and reflective exercises, with structured integration activities between sessions.

CPD Event title: NLP Advanced Applications for Therapists – Module Two
Brief Description Of Event:
“You provide a very warm, supportive learning environment with a very kind & gentle delivery style, and it is evident you are an incredibly knowledgeable and skilled practitioner, very inspiring. Thank you. I was already familiar with some of the content & techniques, although not routinely using all of them due to lack of practice. It was excellent to hear them delivered from a different trainer, giving me a new perspective, more insight & greater understanding. Some of the techniques were brand new to me, and I found them interesting & am excited to try them out. The practice room was helpful to test out the techniques, as I feel the best way to really learn this is by doing it & having to think & respond on the fly to the ‘client’ in front of you.” Amanda Dorlin-Barlow

CPD Event title: Strategy-Based Va**ng Cessation (Live + Recorded)
Brief Description Of Event:
A four-session live CPD course for hypnotherapists on va**ng cessation. Va**ng presents differently from smoking: there is no fixed unit, no natural pause, and often no clear sense of how much is being consumed — which removes many of the anchors smoking cessation work relies on, and makes the identity of “v**er” harder for a client to see, let alone set down. The course teaches the complete process from first enquiry to follow-up, with the reasoning behind each stage.
Led by Ernest McLeod, clinical hypnotherapist and trainer with 14 years in cessation practice. Four weekly live 90-minute sessions on Google Meet — 6 hours of live training — with recordings, workbooks, scripts and protocols, lifetime access and re-attendance, and 10 CPD points recognised by the AHA.
Course Structure:
Four weekly live 90-minute sessions on Google Meet, recorded, following the same three phases as the wider programme — Break the Doubt, Build the Strategy, Embed the Strategy — applied to va**ng specifically. Participants receive session recordings, workbooks, scripts and protocols, a certificate, and lifetime access with re-attendance.
Date of event: Tuesdays 15, 22 and 29 September and 6 October 2026. Live sessions 9am UK time; recorded for anyone who can’t attend live .
