Cheshire Ethiopia is honoured to receive the prestigious Disability and Inclusion Award presented by the Crown of Humanity Award on May 23, 2026, at the Adwa Memorial Museum.
This recognition reflects CE’s continued commitment to promoting inclusion, empowerment, and equal opportunities for persons with disabilities across Ethiopia.
The award ceremony was attended by members of the Board of Management, Senior Management Team, and staff members of CE, who proudly celebrated this important milestone together.
CE extends its sincere appreciation mainly to its dedicated staff members at all rehabilitation centres, the organizers, partners, supporters, and all stakeholders who continue to stand with us in advancing disability inclusion and creating a more inclusive society for all.

Cheshire Ethiopia Addis Ababa Paediatric Rehabilitation Centre conducted practical training on feeding support for children with developmental impairments for rehabilitation workers from May 18–22, 2026.
The training was facilitated by Ms. Marian Fransen, a PUM volunteer and speech therapy specialist with additional expertise in feeding support for children with developmental disabilities. Ms. Marian has more than 30 years of teaching experience in universities in Holland and now volunteers her expertise to NGOs after retirement including PUM.
The session was highly interactive and enabled participants to gain firsthand practical experience on safe and effective feeding techniques. Rehabilitation workers strengthened their skills to better support children with disabilities and their families.
The training also benefited parents by helping them learn appropriate feeding methods that can improve the wellbeing and daily care of their children at home

Cheshire Ethiopia’s Menagesha Rehabilitation Center hosted a successful handover ceremony for funds raised through the Great Ethiopian Run – Run for a Cause initiative,
The ceremony was attended by H.E. Dr. Ergoge Tesfaye, Minister of Women and Social Affairs of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, and Major Haile Gebresilassie, Founder of the Great Ethiopian Run.
In her remarks, H.E. Dr. Ergoge Tesfaye expressed appreciation for the impactful work being carried out by Cheshire Ethiopia. She reaffirmed her office’s commitment to further strengthening collaboration and support, noting her satisfaction with the quality of services delivered at the center.
Major Haile Gebresilassie also shared his admiration for the center’s achievements, stating that he was proud of what he witnessed during the visit.
