Empowering Youth, Protecting Futures: Building Resilience Through Sport and Safeguarding
Let's transform our community through the power of sport! ⚽️🤝
We have successfully concluded the "Sport, Life Skills, and Safeguarding" training, organized in collaboration with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and international partners.
Substance use disorders (SUD) and related anti-social behaviors are pressing public health challenges that require critical attention, yet they are preventable and treatable. Leaving these issues unaddressed and untreated poses profound psychological, social, and political crises, cascading from individuals and families to the entire nation and global security.
Beyond physical fitness, sport holds a powerful capability to protect youth from crime and addiction, build social resilience, and shape holistic character. As we have learned from international best practices, integrating sport with education, life skills, and safeguarding frameworks can generate positive and sustainable change.
The exchange of experiences and peer learning with international experts during this platform provided deep insights, allowed us to share innovative approaches, and served as an exceptional opportunity to build our capacity. Heartfelt gratitude goes to the trainers, speakers, experts who shared their valuable experiences, and all participants for their active involvement in making this training meaningful.
We will continue to strengthen our multi-sectoral national and international movement to safeguard our generation from the dangers of addiction and foster safe, inclusive, and bright futures for our youth!
"Substance use disorders (SUD) is a preventable and treatable public health threat that requires our utmost attention. If left unaddressed and untreated, it poses a profound threat to our contemporary and future global security, generating severe psychological, social, and political repercussions that cascade from individuals and families to the entire nation. Let us unite and work together to safeguard our generation and secure our future!"
