Our brave CUREkid, Konjit, just crossed a major milestone: yesterday, she successfully completed her second surgery! We are so thankful for the skilled hands of our surgical team, but the journey doesn't end when the operating room lights go off.

Healing takes time, patience, and a whole lot of community support. As Konjit rests and recovers today, we are asking for your prayers.

As we walked through the ward today, we caught up with the brave Gebre. On the outside, there is so much to celebrate! His external metal frame has been officially removed, and he has transitioned to a walking cast. He is making wonderful physical progress, and his smile tells us his body is healing. But as we sat with him, Gebre shared something heavy on his heart. Behind the smile, he is carrying deep anxiety. He told us he is worried about returning home due to the ongoing security challenges in his region. On top of that, he just learned that his mother is currently very ill back home. Gebre's biggest fear right now is that regional transit disruptions will halt transportation, cutting off his route and preventing him from returning to CURE Ethiopia for his essential medical follow-up care.

At CURE, we believe in healing both the body and the heart. Gebre is doing his part to heal physically, but right now, he needs our spiritual community to carry this heavy burden with him.

“For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.” – Psalm 91:11

After a playground fall left young Aberash with a severely deformed leg and her family financially exhausted, surgeons fixed it by safely removing the damaged bone and stabilizing her leg. Today, she is crushing her milestones, progressing beyond her orthotic brace to stand proudly on her own two feet with an unstoppable smile, bringing her mother’s dream of finally enrolling her in school closer than ever.

A snakebite left 12-year-old Sisay with a severe wrist contracture, making it impossible to use his hand. Because they lived in a remote area, his family used traditional medicine to heal the bite. The wound closed, but infection caused his wrist to stiffen and pull into an abnormal position. "We tried every solution... but nothing worked," shared his mother, Bezhat, who spent two years worrying about his future. But hope finally arrived. Today, Sisay is at our hospital, preparing for surgery to restore his hand and his confidence! "I am so thankful. We never thought he would have this chance," Bezhat says.

The brave Sisay is doing even better than before! We are grateful for his quick recovery.

Fenet is now following up on her healing journey at CURE Ethiopia, after having a life-changing surgical treatment.
Swipe through to see Fenet's journey, including a special moment where she and her twin brother, Firaol, get a warm hug from Dr. Tewodros in the clinic!
