Maybe the most common question Laavu coaches get:
“How do I stop thinking about work when I’m supposed to rest?”
And no wonder—because it’s difficult, yet critical for proper recovery.
So set yourself up for success:
1. Clear, dedicated time slots 🔁
For performance and for rest.
Your body needs to know which one is which.
Small transition rituals never hurt anybody.
2. Be intentional about what “rest” looks like 🧠
Choose activities that are genuinely (!) meaningful to you
(not those half-enjoyable, half “should do” tasks)
Aim for things that increase:
👉🏼 autonomy
👉🏼 connection
👉🏼 competence
3. Train your mind 💭
When stress thoughts pop up (they will): notice them, and still choose rest.
Not “just one quick task and then I’ll relax.”
Spoiler: there’s always another one.
4. Schedule it 📅
If it’s not in your calendar, it’s optional.
And optional = easy to skip.
Recovery doesn’t just happen. You have to plan it, and choose it actively! 🖤
