"With our Planmeca Onyx™ intraoral scanner, we have been able to eliminate plastic materials from the product packaging."

In this video, Oona, Product Specialist for CAD/CAM, shares how we've replaced traditional plastic foam inserts with biodegradable Woamy biofoam. Made from wood-based pulp, these inserts are fully recyclable, non-toxic, and provide the same reliable protection as conventional plastic foam.

It's just one example of how we're continuously finding more sustainable solutions across our operations. 🌱

✅ More than 30 tonnes less CO₂ emissions!

♻️ Through continuous process optimisation, the partial replacement of natural gas with biogas, and more efficient utilisation of our curing oven, we have reduced the CO₂ emissions of our machining and powder-painting facilities by more than 30 tonnes over the past few years.

💡 This is one example of how we continuously improve the sustainability of our manufacturing operations through both everyday actions and long-term investments.

🙏 Of course, our work is far from complete. We continue to actively pursue new ways to reduce our emissions even further.

♻️ Sustainability improvements are built into everything we do, from daily process optimisation to long-term investments in more sustainable technologies.

📊 At our production facilities in Helsinki, continuous improvements in our painting processes and the adoption of more efficient painting methods have enabled us to reduce coating powder consumption and reuse residues without compromising paint quality or equipment performance. As a result, we have cut waste coating powder by 50%.
