Whilst on a trip to Fiji at beginning of the year, I came across the fruit Soursop. First time I had tried it in my life! Whenever I travel to a new country and get to know its culture, I am a huge foodie and always am interested in the different health benefits the new foods I find provide to the human body :

* Soursop may boost Immunity: High Vitamin C shields cells and supports white blood cells.

*May Aid Digestion: Plentiful fibre may prevent constipation and feed healthy gut bacteria.

*May lower Blood Pressure: Rich potassium levels help flush out excess sodium.

*May Fight Inflammation: Antioxidants and plant compounds reduce joint and tissue swelling.

Last week I attended a really interesting nutrition conference in Edinburgh by Pharmanord: 'Reducing the Risks of Heart Attacks and Strokes Through Nutrition'. This full-day in-person seminar explored how these conditions develop; how to identify the most relevant risk factors for each individual client; and what key nutrition and lifestyle interventions carry the most evidence for reducing risk.
I learnt quite a bit of interesting facts including how exposure to certain light bulbs/ bright artificial light (especially blue, enriched light or overhead LED lights in evening may disrupt your circadian rhythm, leading to increased insulin resistance and altered glucose metabolism the following morning!

A few day's break for my birthday in . In seeing old friends & decided to treat myself to a vegan meal in Prague old town. My diet is always a problem as I'm not only (almost) vegan but also . was recommended to me & it really didn't disappoint either with their amazing zucchini lasagna (couldn't tell at all it was vegan & gf!) & the avocado chocolate cake... Maybe next time I come I'll even get one on the house?! 😀

The most anti-inflammatory food component is fiber. It appears that an increase of just 10 extra grams of fiber per 1,000 calories would equate to four fewer years of cellular aging. https://see.nf/plantshift

Today sadly my 2 week Fiji volunteering trip has come to an end. This week alone, at , we have managed to see over 112 people in their homes and at their village hall, taking their blood pressure, their blood sugar and offering nutrition and lifestyle advice.

It has been both a privilege and an honour to have taken part not only in offering our help but getting to know the people of Fiji and this special culture. I for one have learnt so much in these past 2 weeks about adapting & applying my nutrition knowledge to help people in need.

We all hope we have spread more awareness on the impact can have on families & communities.

At , it is an excellent example of how a safe, clean space to live & access to knowledge through educating underpriviledged communities and their children will hopefully lift current & future generations out of the darkness & poverty and into the light, reminding each other that education, taking care of your health & disease prevention are the way forward.

If you would like to DONATE to , please PM me! Thanks!!

Today all of the volunteers went to a textile company in the main island of Fiji and I gave nutrition advice to over 50 people (mostly of the importance of eating a varied diet and reducing their sugar intake as 1 in 3 Fijians are diabetic). Exhausting day but rewarding! It reminded me this is why I chose to change career and help people change their lives and make a good choice towards their own health. Hopefully we've made a difference today! Apart from the mosquitos and 36c with 80% humidity, loving Fiji & its people ❤️
