Today, communities around the world will celebrate World Pharmacists Day, a day dedicated to recognising the important role pharmacists play in keeping people healthy and safe.

This year's theme, "Empowering Pharmacists for Healthier Futures," highlights the growing contribution of pharmacists in modern healthcare. More than simply dispensing medicines, pharmacists provide trusted advice, help patients understand their treatments, monitor medication safety, and work alongside doctors and nurses to achieve the best possible health outcomes.

At Oceania Hospitals, the pharmacy team consists of three Registered Pharmacists and three Pharmacy Assistants who are committed to delivering safe, high-quality, and patient-focused care. Through ongoing professional development and the use of modern pharmacy technologies, the team helps improve medication adherence, prevent medication errors, and support patients throughout their healthcare journey.

Patient safety remains a top priority, with all medications dispensed in accordance with legal and professional requirements and only on receipt of a valid prescription. The pharmacy team also supports complex treatments and works closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure patients receive the most appropriate care.
