Grateful beyond words. 💛 A few days ago, the Sunday Times ran a feature on the journey that brought me to doula work. What an honour it was to sit down with the incomparable John Kamea, and to reflect on how a challenging experience during the postpartum period still led to a positive seed being sown — because I had experienced support. In my case, that seed is now a twenty-six year career that continues to grow and develop, serving families in our beloved multicultural Fiji, supporting visitors who have made Fiji their home, and standing alongside fellow Pacific Islanders living abroad. That tough experience still drives my work today: the conviction that every woman deserves support from pregnancy to breastfeeding, and that no woman should face childbirth alone.
Massive thanks to the Sunday Times/Fiji Times team for telling my story with such care.
