In early July, FHO Audiometrist Shabina Dean participated in the Eisdell Moore Centre Symposium in Auckland. During her visit, she also engaged with leading ear and hearing care services, including The Hearing House and Health NZ Counties Manukau - Manukau Superclinic, gaining valuable insights into best practices in service delivery.

Shabina shared her experiences with fellow providers and returned with a wealth of knowledge that will strengthen FHO’s ongoing delivery of audiology services in Fiji. Her inspiring journey—as a mother of a young woman with hearing loss and as Fiji’s only female audiometrist—was also featured as a case study during the keynote address delivered by FHO CEO Sureni Perera.

Honoured and Deeply Grateful
Sureni Perera, CEO of the Frank Hilton Organization, was invited to deliver the Keynote Address at the Eisdell Moore Centre| University of Auckland Symposium 2026, hosted by Waipapa Taumata Rau | University of Auckland in Aotearoa, New Zealand on the 2nd and 3rd of July.

The Eisdell Moore Centre Symposium is a leading biennial gathering that brings together researchers, clinicians, and partners from across New Zealand and the Pacific to advance knowledge and practice in hearing and balance.

This invitation recognizes the impact of Frank Hilton Organization’s work in establishing Fiji’s first multidisciplinary Audiology Clinic, and its commitment to evidence-based Early Detection and Intervention for children. It is a powerful acknowledgment of how local innovation and dedication can influence regional health outcomes.

To be recognized and have our work highlighted on such a respected platform reinforces our belief that small agencies like ours can lead with excellence, drive change, and contribute meaningfully to global conversations on health equity.

A proud moment for FHO and for every child and family we serve.
