Frank Hilton Organization Fiji Provides early detection, intervention & special education for children with/at risk of disabilities

Set up and registered in the early 1960's as a charitable organization, the Hilton Organization takes pride in being the controlling authority of the 1st Special Education facility in Fiji. Today it serves over a 130 children with disabilities through its many programmes. The Hilton Organization operates the Hilton Early Interventions Centre, Hilton Special School, Hilton House Hostel, Hilton Audiology unit and Hilton Physiotherapy Unit. Apart from the education programmes offered the Organization also provide supports services such as transportation, nutrition, support groups and income generation programmes for parents, medical and health service to children and their families from low income groups. - Offer effective and quality education at all levels to increase potential of child with disabilities.

- Empower Children with appropriate skills for life in order to increase independence and full participation in society.

- Mitigate hardships of parents and caregivers and empower them with the necessary tools to understand protect and advocate on the rights of children with disabilities.

FHO Physiotherapy and Mobility Device Services are on outreach in the Western Division!

From 27 September to 7 October, our team is providing physiotherapy and wheelchair services to clients from Rakiraki to Lautoka. The outreach includes:

• 24 mobility device follow-ups
• 6 wheelchair fittings
• 1 wheelchair reassessment
• 1 new physiotherapy assessment

The team has completed its visits to Rakiraki and Tavua and will continue services in Ba and Lautoka over the next 5 days.

The team has also met with social welfare officers, nurses, physiotherapists, community rehabilitation assistants and subdivisional medical officers in Rakiraki, Tavua and Ba. These discussions are strengthening referral pathways and helping ensure clients receive continued support after the outreach team returns to Suva.

Thank you to our Western Division colleagues for working with us to bring these services closer to children and families. 💙
