It was at the reception at the Australian High Commission, Fiji that the Interim CEO had the opportunity to speak with the Executive Director of the Women's Fund Fiji. During their conversation, they expressed an interest in meeting to better understand the realities faced by women from marginalized communities, particularly women infected and affected by HIV.
Coincidentally, on the very day the meeting was scheduled, the Executive Director of Fiji Network Plus shared with us the urgent need to strengthen conversations and action around the challenges experienced by Women Living with HIV. A quick message to WFF about this important addition turned what was originally one meeting into a valuable opportunity for WFF and FJN+ to connect for the very first time.
This is something we intentionally strive to do at Rainbow Pride Foundation 4 LGBTQ Rights and Equality in Fiji. We recognize that we cannot do this work alone, nor do we have the capacity to respond to every need ourselves. Whenever possible, we create spaces that bring people and organizations together, fostering collaboration rather than competition.
At the end of the day, our shared goal is simple: to ensure that no one in our communities is left behind when it comes to , treatment, care, and support.
