All change at the clinic.. well not all really, just a swap. We lose the lovely Steph, who is transferring the Advanced Skin Clinic, down the road, alongside a plastic surgeon, which is a much better fit for her talents, and we gain Madeleine, Counselling to add to our team of talking therapists. Summer is here, the heat and sun allow us to use our bodies differently. It's better to do a warm up when you are starting a new activity than to go all out and hurt yourself.

From today the prescription medecines that we use for severe muscle contractions, Panos, Myolastan, Tetrazepam etc have been banned in Europe following research on their side effects. This leaves patients in a poor state as we have been using these drugs for patients in acute back spasm with great results, and so far know of no good alternative. Except..... Dry needling, whereby we take the muscle contraction away with an acupuncture type of needle. We used this together with this drug therapy and took patients out of pain very quickly. So from today, the needles look like the best and most effective way used alongside osteo techniques such as resisted stretching and deep soft tissue work. Not a great day for patients with acute muscle spasm.
