I don't want to take the yoga out of yoga and I don't want to give you a beige menopause-friendly workout with a few breathing exercises tacked on.
Because yoga has so much more to offer us than that.
Yes, the physical practice matters.
We need strength.
We need mobility.
We need balance.
We need to look after our bones, muscles and joints.
But we also need ways to work with what’s happening in our brains and nervous systems.
When brain fog has you losing your train of thought for the third time in a conversation, practising focused attention matters.
When your nervous system is activated, learning to notice it and stay steady within the challenge matters.
When the world feels LOUD and you're overwhelmed by everyone's needs, practising turning your attention inwards matters.
And when sleep is rubbish, energy is low and everything feels like a bit more effort than it used to, having practices that help you pause, breathe, rest and reset matters.
This is what SoulShine is about.
Not fixing you.
Not optimising you.
Not giving you another list of things you should be doing during perimenopause.
It's about giving you a rainbow of tools.
Tools to help you move more easily.
Build strength and confidence in your body.
Think more clearly.
Manage stress and overwhelm.
Sleep better.
Have more energy.
And feel more capable of handling the ups and downs.
Because your yoga practice doesn't have to stay on the mat.
That's the bit I really want you to have.
