SGT Edmund Parry of NSW Police, in 1864 he and Gundagai Police tried to arrest Ben Hall’s gang of Bushrangers (filthy criminals) who had 40 hostages and over 7000 pounds in stolen cash and goods near Jugiong. In the shootout, Ed Parry bravely stood his ground and was killed. All three of the gang were later found and shot or hung for his murder. Tidied here in North Gundagai by Project Norden Veterans and the current Gundagai Police. 💙

PART 3** PTE Richard ‘Dick’ Norden VC. Veteran of 7 & 1 RAR, awarded the VC for his actions at Coral-Balmoral in Vietnam. Later tragically killed as a Policeman in the ACT. PART2** Norden family, LCPL Walter Norden, his father Fred a Gallipoli veteran, he and his 3 brothers all served in WW2, his son Richard, later a VC recipient in Vietnam. Wally an 18yo and his older brother Eddy were both in the famed 2/33rd Battalion. They fought together in bloody fighting on the track, Lae, Finnisterre Ranges, Ramu Valley. They both landed at Balikpapan and expertly dispensed the last J*p strongholds. Buried in North Gundagai with his wife Rita. Tidied by Veterans, 🌺

Gundagai and Riverina Veterans and families*** join us at South Gundagai Cemetery at 10am on Wednesday 13 May to tend to the graves of our fallen. Trooper Tommy O’Leary MM, aged 33, a station hand at Winton QLD in 1915, he was a veteran of 4th Australian Light Horse, a classic Aussie larrikin while the toughest of soldiers, he was the hero of Beersheba decorated saving many Aussies with his daring and sheer courage. Then at Mughar Ridge, Nebi Sawmill, Jerusalem and Es Salt battles. This brave Aussie larrikin eventually succumbing to the trauma of war on the outskirts of Townsville. Lest we forget 🌺

DUST WARNING** I got some bloody Uruzghan dust in my eyes putting this one together. PTE Matty Lambo Lambert of the 2nd Bn the Royal Australian Regiment. Highly skilled at sniping, soldiering and larrikinism, A veteran of East Timor and Afghanistan. Killed in action in Khas Uruzghan region on 22 Aug 2011. Tended to by Project Norden Veterans. Lest we forget 🌺
