Yes! ♥️♥️♥️
📢Calling all insomniacs,
👉🏼those who suffer from sleep apnoea,
👉🏼those who can only sleep in a certain position,
👉🏼those who sleep best when their partner is in bed with them,
👉🏼those who wake to use the toilet,
👉🏼those who wake for a sip of water,
👉🏼those who sometimes wake from a nightmare in a flat panic and call out or reach out for comfort,
👉🏼those who experience chronic pain that interrupts their sleep,
👉🏼those with a toothache,
👉🏼those who struggle to switch off their busy mind for sleep,
👉🏼those who are restless sleepers,
👉🏼those who need precious little sleep- the night owls, the early risers ...
I'm so very sorry to break it to you, but you are officially BAD ADULTS!
Your sleep does not look how the sleep experts say we should be sleeping 🙌🏽 8 uninterrupted, blissful hours of peaceful slumber 🙌🏽
You are not doing as you should.
You are being difficult, manipulative and are unnecessarily disruptive by night.
I'm sorry that none of your other glowing and valuable qualities matter now ... you are a bad sleeper and as such you are a BAD ADULT.
I know this may upset you, to feel so heavily judged because of something that you cannot control.
But sorry, you do not/ will not conform ... it is your fault.
Pretty bloody ridiculous isn't it ...
It's the exact same rot you hear daily about babies who do not sleep the way society dictates.
The question, 'is he a good baby?' is almost always swiftly followed by, 'do they sleep well?'.
It has been sadly decided that only those babies who sleep easily and for long hours independently, in their cot can be 'good babies'.
✨This unrealistic and unfair expectation needs to end✨
It is normal infant sleep and nursing behaviour for a baby to wake and nurse frequently throughout the first year and BEYOND.
Babies are also individuals with their own unique sleep needs and this does not make them any better or any worse than any other person around them.
Let's start with some basic human decency for our youngest and most vulnerable people in society. Their complete dependence on their caregivers is not something to be worried or ashamed of.
Human infants need parenting both day and night.
There are no bad babies, only babies who desperately need us to educate society of what is normal when it comes to their sleep. 😴👶🏽💙
