Now and then! 🌱
Just over six weeks ago, shortly after Easter, we planted our veggie garden into soil so hard we genuinely wondered whether anything would take root. Fast forward to today, and it has come to life.
The look is still quite… let’s say… wild and rustic 🤣😂, but the vegetables seem perfectly happy, which is what matters most.
The zucchini and cucumbers are already producing generously, the tomatoes are beginning to ripen, while the peppers and aubergines are taking their time and steadily growing. Lettuce, salad leaves and radishes are also thriving.
I’m now bracing myself for three months of cooking, preserving and finding ever more creative ways to use zucchini!
There is something deeply satisfying about growing your own food. The flavour of homegrown vegetables is on a completely different level from anything you can buy in a supermarket—fresh, vibrant and full of life.
If you have even a small patch of garden, a few pots on a balcony, or just room for some herbs on a windowsill, I’d encourage you to give it a try. Watching something grow from a tiny seed into food for your table is one of life’s simplest and most rewarding pleasures. 🌿✨
